Fibre-Channel SuperRAID - 7300
Fibre-Channel performance delivers the speed that today's larger, faster servers require for WEB, client / server, EDA, real time back up of Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), video streaming, video post production, special effects processing and other emerging applications. Fibre-Channel 7300
US LogicFibre-Channel-Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) technology delivers maximum bandwidth with minimum latency over far greater distances possible than SCSI, and supports the new 64bit PCI bus, providing over 100MByte/sec data transfer rates over a serial link.
US LogicThe Fibre-Channel loop can have any combination of hosts and drives up to a maximum of 126 devices.
US LogicDrives attach directly to the SuperRAID's internal backplane, via 'Hot-pluggable' canisters, for both signal and power. The backplane's Port Bypass Circuit (PBC) logic enables devices to be removed or inserted without disrupting the operation of the loop. The PBC logic can also take drives off-line or bring them back on-line by sending a command to any device to remove it from loop operation or reinstall it onto the loop.
US LogicAdded Bonus:Because Fiber-Channel supports many protocols, including SCSI & networking, when you install a 100MByte/s disk loop, you also get a 100MByte/s network interface for free, making Ethernet's 10Mbit/s & 100Mbit/s limitations seem trivial compared to the reality of a network that runs at mainframe backplane speeds.

US LogicBottom Line:Fibre-Channel provides significantly higher bandwidth, superior drive array features and improved network storage capabilities than conventional interface technologies...
